Picking your audience
Seth asks a question. Do you pick, or does it just happen? Was The Da Vinci Code written for people who don't buy books, or did it accidentally go viral? I'm not sure it's something you can plan for, and even if you try to, can you really sit down to write for the lowest common denomenator?
