I don't want to believe

Yet another reason why I would not vote for Meg Whitman's chum Mitt Romney. I'd love to be able to post that on TameBay.

The God Debate arrived from eBay yesterday.Sadly I have too much packing to do at the moment to start it: I think reading a couple of dozen pages at a time as I'm falling asleep isn't going to do it justice.

Good news for lazy depressed people (i.e. me)

The natural "high" produced by exercise could one day be available in a pill that targets a gene in our brains. Exercise certainly does help depression, but what is needed is an incentive for me to get off my fat bottom and take my muddy dogs out in the rain. What "scientists at Yale" really ought to be working on is a sharp pokey stick to get me out of bed in the morning.
