Blasphemous Rumours
The Indie has a nice piece about Catholic objections to The Golden Compass (the film). If they think that's bad, wait til we get to The Amber Spyglass. I honestly don't see how they're going to manage to filter out the book's anti-deity message to keep the religious nutjobs happy.

It reminds me of church when I was young: anything that struck against, or cast doubt upon, or even questioned, the church, its leadership or the "literal truth" of the Bible was condemned out of hand. And I used to wonder was our faith really so weak that it couldn't stand a bit of criticism?
